once you pop

Our dining room had some really awful white wallpaper going on.
The other day I pulled off a piece...
and kept pulling...
and kept pulling...
and pretty soon the room looked like this.
5 layers and 12 decades' worth of wallpaper.
{you know I would have kept that retro rose wallpaper if only there was a way...}

To get the rest off warm water in a spray bottle does wonders, and I want to say adding a little fabric softener helps, but I don't remember where I heard that, so don't take me to the bank on that one. We had wallpaper someone had PAINTED OVER in our current house when we bought it. Sometimes you just wonder about people...

I kinda dig the layered look! I say hang some stuff on that wall and call it good.

Oh the flowers would have been awesome like pulling up carpet to find awesome wood floors. But this is more like peeling a sunburn I guess ;) Water helps a ton! Glad you are having fun...right?

Everybody needs an extra project at Christmastime!!
I've had two old houses with multiple layers of paper intersperced with layers of paint. I even stripped the wood back to its natural maple. But the next owners of both places painted right over the wood. Can't think about it. Makes me crazy!
Merry Christmas!
