thankful saturday

Feeling thankful today for...

:: the rhythm + simplicity of healing with herbs
:: thunderstorms
:: an out-of-control garden

:: a prenatal massage! heaven.
:: lots of time to relax and recharge this weekend, both with my family and alone
:: the words "mama, can we go play in the rain?"

:: the feeling of contentedness + ok-edness about having 7 weeks left to go till baby boy
:: preserves on the shelf
:: a blessed burst of energy this weekend to get some much-needed cleaning done

:: sunday tomorrow... a day of rest
:: quiet at last
:: open windows, cool evening breeze

nature journaling

Last Child in the Woods is being thoroughly enjoyed over here -- by mama because it's so inspiring and interesting -- and by the chickies because we're all getting outside and exploring a whole lot more. One idea in the book is to help the children start nature journals. The girls are thrilled with theirs, and I can't help being a little bit proud, even if Maren wants to erase everything she's just drawn/written, just because she just learned how to erase.

Oh, Spring. We're so glad you're here.

happy {belated} first day of spring

Look who snuck out for some squirrel hunting on the first day of Spring. Crazy cat! All of us, 2-footed and 4, are so in love with this weather. We have been hanging clothes outside {little helpers who are close to the ground are a big help to this big-bellied mama}, playing croquet, taking sunshine naps, and having lots and lots of picnics. All this vitamin D is making me so very happy. How about you? Did you celebrate the first day of spring?

night in / night out

Night in:
PJs
giant bowl of popcorn
{after a 20 minute workout, thankyouverymuch}
my fave nasty old orange armchair
The Way We Live Now on Netflix
oh yeah.

Night out:
foxy man in his dress blues
excuse to wear deliciously ridiculous earrings
the dress I found on ebay(!)
all our army friends, all gussied up

What have your nights in / nights out been looking like?

weekending

I hope you had a productive, happy weekend. Mine involved lots of sewing, napping, churching, and hanging out with the fam. Happy Sunday, everyone!
