two things right

As I was bringing up wood from the basement this morning, my heart just about melted when I looked up and saw those little girls sitting shoulder to shoulder in their jammies, "reading" their scriptures. Of course they squabble (frequently), but when it boils down to it, those two are best buddies. They love each other so much. And it makes me so happy that they are beginning to love the scriptures, too.

I feel like I did a lot of wheel-spinning today. I took both those pictures before nine o'clock this morning, and it was reassuring -- after a long, wheel-spinning kind of day -- to sit down to blog those photos and remember that at least I did two things right today -- and maybe a few more, besides. What did you do right today?

took the kids for walk in the stroller to get ice cream. Thanks for my phone call too. It brightened my day.

Oh, I felt the wheels spinning this morning. But, in the afternoon we took a walk in the woods and they played so nicely after that.

Met up with friends then took advantage of that friendship to sneak in a run.

Motivation is low around here because I'm single-parenting this week and the visit was just what the kids needed to get them up and out of the Daddy's gone funk and the run was just what I needed to feel like I wasn't getting lost in the shuffle. It's amazing how four and a half miles in 21 degree weather can make all the difference.

Seriously Amanda, we may be having the same week.

DARLING picture! It's priceless! Today I took the time to make homemade ice cream with the kids. I love when we have quality time WITH each other. Thanks for the reminder - I love the "With, not Near" phrase.

That is the SWEETEST photo. I used to get kind of irritated when people would say to me, "Oh you'll miss these ages. . ." and dang it, they were right! Good for you for capturing the moment. And for recognizing the good you accomplished that day. I'm trying to do better at that myself - writing down the things that I accomplished that day Helps me look back and realize, I do do good stuff for other people sometimes.

Also, I love WITH, not near. I need to apply that myself.

Reading their scriptures?? That tells me you are a good role model - AND it reminds me that I'm not the best in this regard... The photo is priceless. My kids are a little older and we have been enjoying the game Dutch Blitz! I love having fun with my kids...

2 good girls come from a GOOD MOMMA.

Good things. Made all the reservations for the interview trip to Wenatchee. Wish you could be a stop along the way.

That is just about the darndest, cute picture ever. You ARE doing something right. They listen, they hear, and more importantly, they model. That warms my heart.
